Job Details

• Specialty: Echo Tech (Echocardiography)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday
• Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Schedule:

  • Weekday shifts: 5 days x 8 hours
  • Weekend shifts: 4 days x 10 hours (weekend coverage required)
• Call: Holiday call rotation and on-call/standby with response time required

Department & Equipment

• Echocardiography/Cardiac Sonographer department with 6 scanners/rooms
• Common studies: Echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs), Stress Echos
• Average studies per day: 8
• Equipment used: Phillips Epiq ultrasound machines
• Software: Epic EMR and CPACS (Picture Archive & Communication System)
• Radiologist support: Cardiologists provide readings (Radiologist in-house)
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs) used
• No IV starts required

Orientation & Training

• Department-specific orientation lasting 2-3 weeks, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week (even if some modules are remote)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Echo Tech
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) via ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
• Valid driver’s license required (for radius of 60 miles)

Dress Code

• Scrubs allowed in any solid color except navy blue (scrubs not provided)

This position is ideal for experienced Echo Techs seeking a 13-week contract with weekday day shifts and weekend coverage in Colorado Springs.
