Overview

• Location: Phoenix, Arizona
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• NRP
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the specialty
• Level I experience required
• 2 years of CORE experience in the specialty being submitted to
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Teaching experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must have 2 years of Level 4 experience
• Must be gone from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment
• Cannot work another assignment/contract while working for Dignity AZ
• Onboarding must be complete by 1 pm CST Wednesday before start
• Must have own vehicle if traveling as part of a travel team

Preferred

• Cardiac STABLE
• Previous travel experience
• Busy Level 3 experience

Unit Details

• NICU - Level 4
• 71 beds, including 17 stepdown beds
• Ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:3 Level 2
• Charge nurse available with no patient assignment
• 1 PCT per shift
• 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Scrub color: Navy
• Tele: Phillips
• RT manages vents
• Neonatologist and midlevels in house 24/7
• RT available 24/7
• NICU Pharmacy during the day
• Floating to Mother baby and Labor care for babies only
• Floor orientation: 2-3 days
• Common patient types include premature, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical, ECMO, and cooling
• 4 private rooms

Additional Notes

• Weekly orientations are on Mondays except during holiday weeks
• Travelers may be expected to have nursing students
• SIMs Lab is required for all NICU RNs for Foley catheter insertion
• Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam is required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance for applicable units
