L&D RN

Overview

  • Location: Salisbury, Maryland
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • Hours per week: 36

Role

  • Caring for obstetrical patients antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum
  • Immediate PACU recovery of patients post c-section
  • Providing immediate care of the newborn

Unit

  • 13 labor beds, 3 triage rooms, 2 ORs
  • Average 170 deliveries per month
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1-2:1

Required Qualifications

  • BLS
  • NRP
  • MD or compact state RN license
  • 1 year minimum experience in the specialty

Schedule

  • On-call shift averages 12 hours per 4 weeks
  • Weekends required, usually every 3rd but up to every other

Floating

  • May float to postpartum if census is low on L&D
  • No floating outside OB

Additional Notes

  • Local candidates are not accepted within a 100-mile radius
  • 8 hours of non-billable orientation
  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Epic EMR, Pericalm fetal monitoring surveillance, and Omnicell medication dispensing system are used in the unit
