L&D RN

Overview

Location: Salisbury, Maryland
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
Hours per week: 36

Role

Caring for obstetrical patients antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum
Immediate PACU recovery of patients post c-section
Providing immediate care of the newborn

Unit

13 labor beds, 3 triage rooms, 2 ORs
Average 170 deliveries per month
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1-2:1

Required Qualifications

BLS
NRP
MD or compact state RN license
1 year minimum experience in the specialty

Schedule

On-call shift averages 12 hours per 4 weeks
Weekends required, usually every 3rd but up to every other

Floating

May float to postpartum if census is low on L&D
No floating outside OB

Additional Notes

Local candidates are not accepted within a 100-mile radius
8 hours of non-billable orientation
Hospital-provided scrubs
Epic EMR, Pericalm fetal monitoring surveillance, and Omnicell medication dispensing system are used in the unit
