Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool - Nights

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit.
Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15), scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation.
No guaranteed hours.
Use of Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.

Unit Details

Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:8 at night (1:6 days/evenings).
Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6.
Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4.
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii.
Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
Experience in Stepdown units.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Orientation & Training

Orientation provided for each unit floated to.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
Do not accept start date if unable to arrive on time.

Additional Information

Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
