Registered Nurse (Neuro Critical Care) - Travel Assignment

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours, every other weekend commitment
Position: 0.9 FTE (one opening)

Unit Overview

• Unit: Neuro Critical Care
• Number of Beds: 10
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3
• Patient Types: Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, neurologic tumors
• Equipment Used: Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of neurology experience, including experience within the last year
• Neuro ICU experience
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Skills:

  • Care of hemodynamically unstable patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Pupillometer, External Ventricular Drain (EVD), Intracranial Pressure (ICP) waveform management
• Familiarity with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Epic EMR experience

• Dress code: Navy scrubs required; hoodies are not acceptable
• Reporting location: 4 West in Tower building; employee parking available in designated yellow-lined spots

Orientation

• Includes completion of required modules on first day
• Epic training if needed
• One day of unit orientation
