Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Level II Trauma Operating Room (OR) with 18 ORs
Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics
Common procedures include trauma, neurosurgery (ACDF, spinal fusions, cranial procedures), Da Vinci Xi robotics, urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, trauma orthopedics, pediatrics, minimal plastics, and ENT

Work Schedule & Hours

Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
Call is required
Weekly guaranteed hours: 40

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Nevada
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including families and caregivers
Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care over an entire episode of care
Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed
Deliver care in a fast-paced, high-volume Level II trauma center environment
Apply scientific knowledge and maintain ongoing professional growth
Address cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the patient population served

Hospital features 800 inpatient beds and 80 emergency room beds
Volume and pace comparable to a Level I trauma center
Advanced technology and specialized services including:
- Accredited heart failure center
- Institute for Neurosciences
- Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
- Low-dose CT imaging
- PET/CT scanner, Biplane Angiography, and 3T MRI technologies

Additional Notes

Call is a required component of the position
The role demands intensive continuous mental effort for safe patient care and decision-making
