Travel assignment in Idaho Falls, Idaho
Operating Room unit
Assignment length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Start date: ASAP, but not earlier than 10/26

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Idaho
OR - Operating Room (3 years of experience)
OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Trauma experience

Preferred Qualifications

CNOR certification
Burn experience
Robotic experience
Neuro experience

Unit Details

Operating Room has 13 ORs
Staffing includes RNs and CSTs
Meditech is used as the EMR

Schedule / Call

Weekend call rotates every four weeks
Call is used to fill evening and night staffing holes Monday through Thursday
Typical call shifts are 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours
The team makes every attempt not to schedule more than 60 hours of work and call combined in a week

Clinical Scope

The unit performs burn, dental, ENT, gastroenterology, general, gynecology, neuro, open heart, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, psychiatry, robotics, trauma, and urology procedures

Pros

Management is willing to work with RTO pretty easily. GE machines are easy to use and proximity of ER with CT is set up nicely.

Cons

Communication with management is sometimes awful. Especially with contract extensions. HR also did not pay me for a day due to a missed punch. Instead of contacting me about issues, they just didnt pay me and it took two months to resolve that missing pay.
