Unit Overview

Unit: Surgical ICU
Beds: 9
Staff: 36
Shift Staffing:
- Day: Charge RN, Unit Secretary, RNs
- Night: Charge RN, RNs
Patient Ratio: 2:1 (can increase to 3:1 based on needs)
Equipment: Bedside monitoring, IABP, CRRT, Impella
Floating: MICU, telemetry, med-surg
On-Call Requirement: None

Requirements

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in Louisiana
ACLS
BLS
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year (1 year of experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiac ICU experience
Surgical ICU experience

Typical Procedures

Central line insertion and care
Chest tube insertion and care
