Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech - Rad CATR CT)

Job Summary

Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures using various imaging equipment to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures following accrediting bodies, manufacturer guidelines, and department protocols.
• Review radiology orders, patient history, and labs to ensure exam appropriateness and medical necessity.
• Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate, including performing veni-puncture and managing adverse reactions.
• Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
• Critique imaging quality by assessing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
• Transfer and verify image data in PACS; provide necessary clinical information for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain imaging equipment, supply inventories, and workplace orderliness; report malfunctions promptly.
• Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety; report safety events immediately.
• Assist in training students and new staff as needed.
• May perform duties of Lead Rad Tech or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
• Cross-train and perform duties in other modalities within licensure scope as required.
• Utilize RIS for scheduling, billing, and coding procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in Illinois
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Radiography License
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience as a CT Technologist
