Registered Nurse – Medicine Specialty

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience: ICU experience preferred; MS/SD experience required

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision.
• Manage an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor and obtain physiological data, intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, regulate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families, including at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Stepdown nursing experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Additional Information

• Preferred education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program.
