Job Summary

• Provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.
• Perform diagnostic patient testing including:

  • Electroencephalogram (EEG)
  • Electromyography (EMG)
  • Nerve conduction velocities (NCV)
  • Sensory evoked potentials (EP)
  • Polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP)
• Set up rooms and equipment in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Read and score neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests.
• Take patient histories.
• Instruct patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Experience & Education

• If completed an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: No prior experience required.
• If no graduation from an acceptable Neurophysiology program: High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostic procedures required.
• Required education: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology.

Certifications & Licensure (Required)

• Registry eligible in one of the following specialty areas:

  • EEG (Electroencephalogram - R. EEG T., CLTM)
  • EP (Evoked Potentials - R. EP T.)
  • Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
  • Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV)
  • Polysomnography (RPSGT)
  • Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required
