Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lancaster, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 to 1:7
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Required to float within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Block schedule accommodation: May be requested but not guaranteed
• Local candidates considered within 60-mile radius

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Virtual interview required before assignment
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • Statewide and national criminal checks
  • Sex offender registry
  • FACIS 3 and international searches if applicable
• Drug screen: 10-panel urine test within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
• Immunizations and titers required or documented declinations:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Annual flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted) during flu season
• Negative TB test (T-spot, Q-Gold, or 2-step PPD) within 90 days of start; follow-up required if positive
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• NURSYS license verification required
• Primary source verification of SC RN license required; temporary “walk-through” license option available for eligible candidates
• Radiation badge required only for specific units (not applicable for this role)

Orientation and Facility Specifics

• Must complete online modules (approx. 2 hours) before orientation; failure to complete results in being sent home
• Upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility system prior to start

• Facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; after 2 undocumented call-outs per contract, cancellation may occur
