ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Location: Metairie, Louisiana
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1:2, sometimes flexes to 1:3
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call: Not required
• Floating: Required to all ICUs; may also float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients, and occasionally to MS/PCU units with 1:4 ratios

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• CPI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ImpelIa experience
• NxStage experience
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Experience

• Impella experience
• NxStage experience

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Care for isolation patients, including COVID-19 patients

Additional Notes

• CPI may be completed onsite for candidates not already certified
• Candidates should know their N95 mask size
• RTO is limited to 5 days total
