• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per week: 36
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule Notes: Weekends may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs; scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered; travel pairs will not be considered.
• Local radius for assignment: 50 miles

Job Description

• Role: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
• Must be able to circulate in the Labor and Delivery unit
• Experience in large hospital settings is highly preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications required:

  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN certification

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (as applicable)
• Background Check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
• NURSYS license verification for RNs
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccination documentation preferred (declinations not required)
• Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
• Fit Mask test required annually (effective for new starts on or after 2/5/2024)
• References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
• Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked
• Skills Checklist for applicable unit, updated annually
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)

Competency and Training Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or successful completion of Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment exam
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
• Epic charting system training (transcripts required)

Additional Notes

• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per pay period (2 weeks)
• No scheduling accommodations for outside employment
• Float policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
• Large hospital setting experience preferred

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with prior travel contract experience who meet all certification and licensing requirements and are ready to work night shifts in a busy, Magnet-recognized acute care hospital setting.
