Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Irvine, California

Position Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Irvine, CA
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Unit: Emergency Department (ED) with flexibility to float to Inpatient (IP)
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:30 AM – 6:30 PM)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of Case Management experience within the last year

Background and Screening Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually, including:

  • 7-year search with statewide, nationwide, sex offender, social security trace, and federal searches
  • No open cases or DUI within last 5 years allowed
• Proof of education (diploma or transcript) from accredited program
• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (instant drug screen acceptable)
• TB screening: Negative PPD, T-Spot, or Q-Gold within 1 year; if positive, negative chest x-ray within 4 years plus annual questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or Pertussis titer showing immunity
  • Hepatitis B series or declination (titer not accepted)
  • Hepatitis C titer preferred; declination accepted with reason
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines after age 1; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine required by December 5th or signed declination; masking required if declined or not vaccinated
• N95 mask fit testing within 1 year, renewed annually; PAPR documentation accepted if N95 fit test failed

References and Employment History

• Two professional references within 1 year from leadership (e.g., Department Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse)
• Employment application showing at least 1 of last 2 years in specialty at a U.S. facility
• Annual performance evaluation required if working with the agency for 1 year or more

Additional Requirements and Notes

• First Day Instructions (FDI) will be provided before start date
• Some competency exams and assessments are unit-specific and may be completed onsite
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card may be required depending on unit; only CPI Blue Card accepted, not MAB
• Per diem candidates have some differing requirements, but this is a travel/contract position
• Candidates must complete and sign skills self-assessment and various policy acknowledgments prior to or during orientation
• Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed as part of onboarding
• Masking policy requires universal masking indoors and outdoors for candidates not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu unless exempted by vaccination status

• Variable schedule including weekends possible
• Fast-paced Emergency Department with potential float to inpatient units
