Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
- Patient Ratios: 1:20-25
- Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma Center
- Charting System: Epic
- Floats: May float within scope to adult inpatient, Emergency Department, and Pediatrics
- Weekend Requirement: Variable
- Block Scheduling: Possibly accommodated by request
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License Accepted: Yes, if application submitted and received by licensing board (qualifies for 90-day license exemption)
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7-10 days max, added to end of contract to make up for RTO
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of case management experience, including acute hospital case management
- Case management experience within the last year
- Experience in inpatient settings
- Experience in Emergency Department (ED) settings
- Pediatrics experience
- ACLS certification
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
- Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification
- National Sex Offender Search and other federal checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) required within 30 days prior to start
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start (laboratory-based, SAMHSA certified)
- Two (2) manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted unless direct supervisor)
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test (2 Step-PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD) within 12 months; chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire if positive history
- Tdap vaccine or signed declination (Tdap preferred over TD)
- Immunity or vaccination (or signed declination) required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (full series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required by December 1, 2025
- Fit mask test required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent); facility no longer conducts onsite fit testing
Certifications & Training
- ACLS and BLS must be AHA provider only (traditional or Heartcode Complete; e-cards must be employer-verified)
- PALS and NRP certifications not required for this role
- Stroke CEUs not required for case managers
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam not required
- Facility-specific training modules must be completed prior to start (e.g., Compass modules for RNs)
- Professional appearance policy and job description must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Additional Information
- No on-call requirement
- Parking: $16 daily pass required (8 AM - 5 PM); public transportation encouraged
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date; planned unavailability must be communicated in advance
- Facility requires completion of various facility-specific documents and attestations prior to start (e.g., coronavirus protocol attestation, vaccine declination/waiver if applicable)
- Candidates may be fit tested onsite if agency cannot provide fit testing, but medical respirator clearance is required beforehand
This position offers an opportunity for experienced RN Case Managers to work in a high-acuity, teaching hospital environment with a supportive team and comprehensive compliance standards.
