Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of acute inpatient case management experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Work in a Case Management department at a Short-Term Acute Care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with a Level I Trauma Center
- Provide RN case management for adult inpatient and Emergency Department populations
- Patient ratio of approximately 1:20-25
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Variable weekend requirements
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float within scope to adult inpatient, ED, and Pediatric units as needed, including to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Uses Epic charting system
- Possible accommodation for block scheduling by request
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required; pending license applications accepted if submitted to licensing board
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued; RQI not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of acute, inpatient hospital case management experience within the last 5 years required
- Inpatient medical/surgical, ED, or pediatric experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital and Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references not accepted)
- Work history verification covering the last seven years required, including city, state, dates of employment, and any employment gaps
- Must pass Relias exams with a score of 85% or higher
- Must clear a comprehensive lifetime background check with no license or background issues
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Coordinate care, manage admissions, and lead discharge planning for adult inpatient and ED patients
- Utilize InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines in case management decision-making
- Apply knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, DRG, ICD-10, and Joint Commission regulatory standards
- Any color scrubs accepted except prints; scrubs provided
- Daily parking pass costs $16 (8am-5pm); public transportation encouraged
- RTO must be submitted upfront and limited to a maximum of 2 weeks, with any additional time added to the end of the contract
- Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must be separated for at least 6 months before returning, and require a reference from their previous OHSU manager
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Non-billable orientation modules average 4.5 hours for RNs and are completed prior to start date
