Job Details

• Specialty: Surgical Services (strong orthopedic skills required)
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Call: Approximately 4-6 calls in a 6-week period, weekend call included in this count

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Appropriate license for Surgical Tech / OR Tech in California
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, MAB, NIH Stroke, CPI certifications as applicable per clinical track (verify specific requirements)
• Experience: Must be strong in orthopedic surgical services
• References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Background Checks:

  • Must have a background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
  • Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide and County checks, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, and others as applicable
• Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
• Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates, includes virtual questionnaire reviewed by licensed healthcare professional
• Fit Mask Testing: Required annually for travel candidates unless exempted; onsite testing available if needed

• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable by specialty
