Schedule

• Day shift, 5x8 hours
• Monday through Friday
• 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• 40 hours per week

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Setting and Duties

• Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab
• Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
• 1:1 patient ratio
• May float as needed
• Call required: one day per week and every fifth weekend
• No regular weekend requirement

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in North Carolina
• Cath Lab Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Experience

• Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, including:

  • ASD closures
  • Cardiac implant closure device
  • Impella insertion
  • Rotablader atherectomy
  • Scrub procedures
  • TAVI/TAVR
• Vascular studies/procedures, including:

  • Angioplasty
  • Dialysis graft intervention
  • Upper and lower extremity angiography
• IV therapy support, including:

  • Central line insertion/management
  • Implanted ports care and maintenance
  • PICC line care and maintenance
• Additional skills:

  • End-tidal CO2 monitoring
  • External compression devices
  • Hypothermia protocols
  • Laser-assisted procedures
  • Pressure ulcer assessment/prevention
  • Radiation and laser safety
  • Topical hemostasis
  • Vascular closure systems
  • Ventilator monitoring

Unit Details

• Occasional late days, typically 4–5 days per month
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Scrubs provided

Important Notes

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Must be fully available for possible start-date changes and orientation scheduling
• Locals are accepted
