Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: New London, Connecticut
Facility Type: Short term acute care, Level III trauma center
Shift Details:

• 40 hours per week
• Evening and/or night shifts
• 8 and/or 12-hour shifts
• Includes at least every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating to nearby facility if needed

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
• Pediatric experience required

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active Connecticut and Rhode Island state licenses (one can be pending as long as the other is active)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) certification (AHA)
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 12 months of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification including foreign equivalency if applicable
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations and titers:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tdap vaccination preferred for pediatric specialties
• 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccination series preferred

Additional Requirements

• Must have a 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
• Skills checklist and work history verification required within 12 months of start
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure may be required depending on assignment

• Part of a large health system with EPIC charting
• Scrubs: Navy blue
• Free parking available

• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position.
• Floating to a nearby facility may be required.
• Candidates must be prepared to work holidays and weekends as scheduled.
