Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Salem, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: OR RN, day shift primarily; also night shifts available
• Schedule:

  • 3 x 12-hour shifts (day: 07:00-17:30; night: 19:00-07:30)
  • Weekday scheduled shifts: 12 hours
  • Weekday night call shifts: 8 hours (23:00-07:00)
  • Weekend scheduled and call shifts: 12 hours
  • Up to 6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• First-time travelers are allowed (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications & Licenses

• Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
  • Oregon RN license (NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start)
• Preferred:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, preferred but not required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but not mandatory for this position

Competencies

• Telemetry skills required for all RNs regardless of unit
• Competency exams with passing scores required (e.g., 80% for general competency, 85% for Dysrhythmia/EKG if applicable)

Background & Health Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (can start with physical pending)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted:

  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria)
  • Flu vaccine (year-round requirement)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (antibody titers or vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (or documentation if positive)
• Fit mask testing to be completed onsite within first week of start

Documentation & Compliance

• Clear copy of driver's license, passport, or state ID required
• Proof of name change if applicable
• Education verification required for non-licensed providers (not applicable for RN)
• Photo for badge required at least 8 days prior to start (white background)
• Completion of required HealthStream modules by due date
• References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months

• Up to 6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
• Telemetry skills and competency exams are mandatory
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply; prior travel experience is NOT required
