Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Salem, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: OR RN, day shift primarily; also night shifts available
- Schedule:
- 3 x 12-hour shifts (day: 07:00-17:30; night: 19:00-07:30)
- Weekday scheduled shifts: 12 hours
- Weekday night call shifts: 8 hours (23:00-07:00)
- Weekend scheduled and call shifts: 12 hours
- Up to 6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- First-time travelers are allowed (prior travel experience NOT required)
Certifications & Licenses
- Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
- Oregon RN license (NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start)
- Preferred:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, preferred but not required
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but not mandatory for this position
Competencies
- Telemetry skills required for all RNs regardless of unit
- Competency exams with passing scores required (e.g., 80% for general competency, 85% for Dysrhythmia/EKG if applicable)
Background & Health Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (can start with physical pending)
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted:
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria)
- Flu vaccine (year-round requirement)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (antibody titers or vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (or documentation if positive)
- Fit mask testing to be completed onsite within first week of start
Documentation & Compliance
- Clear copy of driver's license, passport, or state ID required
- Proof of name change if applicable
- Education verification required for non-licensed providers (not applicable for RN)
- Photo for badge required at least 8 days prior to start (white background)
- Completion of required HealthStream modules by due date
- References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months
Additional Notes
- Up to 6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
- Telemetry skills and competency exams are mandatory
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply; prior travel experience is NOT required
