Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit) - Travel/Contract

Location

Omaha, Nebraska

Contract Details

Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Total hours per week: 36
Option for 36 or 48-hour shifts and 13 or 26 week contracts (this posting is for 13 weeks)

Unit Description

Medical Surgical/Solid Organ Transplant Unit (36-bed)
Provides medical surgical, telemetry, and progressive care to adult pre- and post-liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal transplant, and intestinal rehabilitation patients
Adolescent patients (age 15+) are cared for by core staff only
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights (rarely 1:7 nights)
Drip infusions required on all floors
EPIC electronic charting system used

Staffing and Floating

Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently to meet hospital staffing needs
Floating may include multiple units such as Neuro, Trauma, Observation, and Bellevue campus
Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and some floors have LPNs
Locals not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from facility

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in an acute care setting
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
