Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3/12s), variable start time between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM
- Work Setting: Operating Room
- Patient Population: Adult only
- Unit Details:
- 14 OR suites
- Approximately 7,500 cases per year
- Cases run Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday 7 AM to 3 PM
- Call required after hours
- Case Types:
- Total joints and Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Vascular
- Gynecology
- Robotics
- Cardiac
- Urology
- ENT
- Breast surgery
- Trauma Level: Not a Level 1 trauma center
- Staffing Ratio: 1 Anesthesia Tech to 4 OR suites
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
- Anesthesia Technician experience within the last year
- At least 1 year of total travel experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
- Various federal and state screenings including FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List (as applicable)
- Education verification and transcript/diploma verification as needed
- Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
- References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared for work
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to California law)

- Completion of facility-specific documents including:
- Job description acknowledgment
- Standards of business conduct
- Confidentiality agreements
- Regulatory orientation
- HIPAA agreement
- Report of abuse acknowledgment
- IT confidentiality statement
- Orientation booklet and post-test
- TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually (not required for some non-clinical roles)
