Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse
  • Work schedule varies weekly with opportunity for block scheduling, including weekend option positions
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
  • No on-call requirements
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • EPIC electronic health record system experience required
  • Uniform: Navy scrubs

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • ACLS and BLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • CPI certification
  • Ability to work every other weekend

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 12 months prior to start
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • I9 verification
  • E-Verify compliance
  • Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
  • Negative drug screen within 12 months prior to start
  • TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (must be renewed annually)
  • COVID vaccination series preferred
  • OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start (required for fit testing)
  • Photo for badge (passport style, plain background)
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and checklists

Additional Information

  • Fit testing for respirators will be completed onsite during the first week of orientation
  • No on-call duties required
  • Candidates must complete all required facility-specific training modules annually
  • References and skills checklist required prior to start
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams may be required per facility standards

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working varied shifts including weekends and have proficiency with EPIC.
