Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Care for trauma surgical patients and abdominal transplant patients in a Level 1 trauma center or a high-volume teaching facility.
  • Preferred experience with tele monitoring, wound care, fracture care, post-surgical skills, traction, and patient mobility.
  • Familiarity with drips such as insulin and heparin.
  • Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Experience working with Level 1 trauma patients.
  • Experience with trauma surgical patient population.
  • Experience with abdominal transplant patient population.
  • Tele monitoring experience.
  • Trauma experience.
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must have a renewal plan in place for any certifications or documents expiring during the contract.
  • Pass/fail EKG exam required for certain units; only two attempts allowed.
  • Must comply with facility-specific policies including confidentiality, acceptable use, and electronic communications.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
