Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Nights)

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Licensure

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license for Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Primary source verification of professional license required (NURSYS verification for Missouri licenses)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• State-specific searches and registries as applicable
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Various facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and others must be completed prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
• Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review
• Orientation modules required for all RNs, completed through an online platform, approximately 16 hours
