Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Overview

• Temp Registered Nurse (RN) role in Des Moines, Iowa.
• 13-week contract.
• Nights, 12 hours per day.
• Unit has 15 beds and cares for all types of med surg patients.
• Patient ratio is 4-5:1.
• Tele tech unit monitoring is remote.
• Uses EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• 2 years of experience in Med Surg / Telemetry.
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• Experience in charge roles.
• Experience with heparin.
• Experience with Epic.
• Driver's License.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills in telemetry/cardiac background.
• 24 months of current Med Surg / Medical Surgical / Med Surg Tele experience.
• Professional reference / reference check from within the last 24 months.

Additional Details

• No locals accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license.
• Past employees of UPH in FTE or PRN float pool roles cannot work travel in another market within 12 months; prior UPH travel roles are not affected.
• Contractor is required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed.
• Traveler will float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
• Scrubs: navy blue, solids.
