Job Overview

• Work option: up to 48 hours per week if desired
• Facility includes 5 behavioral health units with varying patient-to-staff ratios (ranging from 10 to 23 patients per unit)
• Patient population: Adult behavioral health patients
• Common diagnoses treated: Schizophrenia, Dementia, Manic Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Dual Diagnosis, Medical Detox, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders
• Electronic Health Record system used: Cerner
• Call requirements: None

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle With Care (HWC) certification (CPI preferred; HWC training available if needed)

Orientation and Scheduling

• Orientation start dates available throughout the year (multiple dates from July to December)
• Typical workweek: 36 hours guaranteed, with option to work up to 48 hours

Unit and Patient Care Details

• Units have patient-to-nurse ratios ranging from approximately 10 to 23 patients per unit, supported by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Scrub color: Any color allowed
• Training provided for Handle With Care certification if not already held

Additional Notes

• No weekend or float requirements specified
• Behavioral health specialty focus with exposure to a wide range of psychiatric conditions
• Facility includes trauma level services and multiple specialty centers (Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, Level 3 NICU) but this role is focused on behavioral health units only
