Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit with a 9-bed CVU, 12-bed ICU, and approximately 36-bed IMC.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:3 to 1:4 depending on acuity.
- Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications.
- Medication drips may include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and nicardine.
- Automated charting system in use.
- One week of orientation provided.
- Educator available on unit to support staff.
- Schedule may include working up to every other weekend.
- 12-hour day shifts.
- High patient throughput typical for step-down units.
- Good housing available in a desirable area near St. Louis.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Illinois.
- ACLS and BLS certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred.

- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
- Patient acuity and medication management experience preferred.
