ICU Resource Team - RN
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Manage 1-3 critically ill patients across various populations including neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients.
- Manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips.
- Assist with bedside procedures such as RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests.
- Use equipment including EPIC EMR, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinet, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG Feeding pumps, IABP, EVD, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, AvaSure patient Monitoring, and Impella.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience.
- Experience titrating vasopressor drips (must be documented on resume or skills checklist).
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS.
- Valid North Dakota or compact state RN license.
Schedule & Work Details
- Day/Night rotating shifts: 8 and 12 hour shifts, occasional 4 hour shifts.
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
- No call required.
- Must call in each day prior to shift to confirm unit/location assignment.
- Floating to all critical care departments including Intermediate ICU (ratios up to 4:1), Broadway ICU (ratios up to 3:1), and med-surg units as needed.
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:2.
- 32-bed unit.
- Employee will not work alone.
Orientation & Training
- Total of 32 hours orientation during the first week:
- 8 hours hospital orientation
- 8 hours unit orientation (5CD)
- 4 hours Intermediate ICU orientation
- 12 hours Broadway ICU orientation
Additional Information
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Must disclose if previously worked for the facility; if yes, last date of employment must be at least 6 months prior to submission.
