- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour night shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS certification
- General medical-surgical background
Preferred Experience
- Nephrology or urology background
Schedule
- 3x12 shifts
- Self-scheduling available
- Block scheduling may be accommodated
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- No call shifts
Unit Details
- Nephrology unit with 21 beds
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days, 1:5-6 on nights
- Telemetry is monitored by a separate tech team; nurses do not read telemetry strips
- Charge nurse and house supervisor are on duty 24/7
- PCT support is available on all shifts
Responsibilities
- Bedside report and 1-2 hour rounding are required
- May float to other general medical units
- May occasionally float as a sitter or to the ED or ICUs as a help-all role
Additional Notes
- Local placements within 50 miles are accepted
- Drug screen required
- No call requirement
- No vents on the unit
- Scrubs may be any color
- No artificial nails, gel nails, chipped polish, visible tattoos, or piercings; simple earrings are allowed for females
- 3-day unit orientation with a preceptor
