RN (Registered Nurse)

Location

  • Centennial, Colorado

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour evening shifts

Unit

  • ER/ED Float Pool

Schedule

  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday
  • Schedule is set by leadership based on unit needs

Floating

  • Required to float throughout Zone 1 within a 60-mile radius of the zone’s city center
  • Floating may include multiple ERs within the zone
  • No home base facility

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of ED experience
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry
  • Must be able to perform point-of-care lab testing

Required Certifications

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
  • TNCC

Clinical Setting Notes

  • Trauma level varies by site
  • Mixed ER holds
  • No separate psych/seclusion rooms
  • RT available 24/7
  • No monitor techs
  • Charge nurse takes an assignment
  • Typical patient volume varies by location
  • Common patient types include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension

Orientation

  • 2–3 days of unit-specific orientation
  • Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation

Housing

  • Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating across the full zone feasible
