Unit Details

Medical unit with potential to have surgical patients, but this does not usually happen
30–35 bed unit
Typical census is 30, can go up to 46
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–7

Schedule

12-hour nights
Every other weekend
No call

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent experience
Active American Heart Assoc BLS
Active MD or compact state RN license

Clinical Responsibilities

Care for 5–7 patients
Admissions, discharges, and transfers
Tele monitoring

Float Scope

Float to other MS units

Additional Notes

Client does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
Client may call off or cancel up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment
8 hours of non-billable orientation
Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
Medication competency is given on the first day with an 80% passing score; one retake is allowed
