Job Summary
The RN is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care with a focus on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, and mentoring/precepting team members. The RN applies evidence-based practice within a Practice Governance framework and promotes patient/family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as mentor/preceptor
- Facilitate teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards
- Engage in Practice Governance activities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Maternal-Newborn nursing experience of at least 2 years
- Maternal-Newborn nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- NRP-Advanced certification
- STABLE certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Acute care nursing experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
