Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources to deliver quality patient care.

Essential Functions

Perform all unit-specific nursing duties within the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to Emergency Department (ED) nursing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify care plans based on continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards.
Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families to promote a healing environment.
Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Additional Information

Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
