12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Weekends and holidays required
Float Pool position with floating to multiple pediatric units including:
- 34-bed Pediatric ICU (PICU)
- 25-bed Cardiac ICU (CICU)
- 112-bed Neonatal ICU (NICU) (limited to low acuity "feeder growers" only, not traditional NICU)
- Acute care units: surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down unit, cardiac pediatrics

Job Description

Provide nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders
Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe and intervene as necessary
Administer medications, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families
Inform patients and families about hospital procedures
Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Delegate tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Licensure & Certifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Experience & Skills

Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
Experience with tracheostomy care and high-flow oxygen therapy
Familiarity with infusion therapy
Ability to float across various pediatric units as described
