Job Description
The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality nursing care based on the nursing department’s philosophy and goals. Utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health, maintain safety, and restore wellness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing patient physical and psychosocial conditions continuously
- Formulating nursing diagnoses and care plans in collaboration with patients
- Performing essential nursing skills and educating patients and families
- Evaluating care effectiveness and modifying plans as needed
- Demonstrating knowledge and safe use of equipment, instruments, and medications
- Delegating tasks appropriately and supervising care team members
- Advocating for patients’ rights and informed decision-making
- Providing culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards
- Coordinating patient care activities with healthcare team members
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of acute care and telemetry nursing experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Required
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing; Associate Degree or BSN accepted. BSN required by January 1, 2020, unless grandfathered.
- Licensure: Valid and current California RN license
- Certifications: Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification
- Skills: Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform all physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills
Contract Length
- 8 weeks

- Completion of annual organizational requirements for employment

- Use of manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency
- Accountability for patient satisfaction and positive patient care experience
- Participation in complaint resolution and investigation processes
- Other duties as assigned
