NICU RN Travel Position - California (Fairfield)
Job Summary
- Deliver safe, effective, and quality nursing care based on the Department of Nursing’s philosophy and goals.
- Utilize Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care models.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health.
- Provide care tailored to patients’ physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
- Use scientific knowledge and nursing process to provide care consistent with interdisciplinary plans.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise nursing care by team members.
- Advocate for patients and support informed decision-making.
- Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
- Coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience.
- Graduate from an accredited professional registered nursing program.
- Associate Degree or BSN accepted.
- Required certifications/licenses:
- California RN License
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Contract Length
- 8 weeks
Additional Information
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills required.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.
- Completion of annual organizational employment requirements.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate safe patient handoffs.
- Documentation of nursing care per hospital policies.
- Use of manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency.
- Accountability for patient satisfaction and contributing to positive patient care experiences.
- Assist in resolving complaints promptly.
- Investigate physician, employee, and patient complaints and report to management as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
