Job Description

• Provide assessment, monitoring, and intervention during cardiac procedures including:

  • Left and right heart catheterization
  • Coronary stents
  • Balloon valvuloplasty
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Structural heart procedures
  • Intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, and EKOS devices
• Member of Emergency On Call Team (STEMI Team)
• Administer oral and intravenous medications
• Manage patients under sedation, monitoring for adverse reactions
• Educate patients and families on surgical site care, lifestyle, medications, and postoperative instructions
• Manage documentation including patient consent forms, charting, lab results, and procedure records
• Collaborate with medical staff as needed
• Weekend and night call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (American Heart Association certification required)
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• License/certification verification dated within 30 days of start
• Fit test (specific to mask requirements)
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
• COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster or approved declination/exemption)
• MMR vaccination proof or IgG titer
• Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start
• Influenza vaccine (optional)
• 2-step PPD or IGRA test with chest x-ray if positive (per regional requirements)
• Varicella vaccination proof or IgG titer
• Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within 30 days of start
• Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED)
• Various professional forms and agreements including code of conduct, confidentiality, conflict of interest, integrity and audit services, system access, and patient information security agreements
• National and state-level screening reports (EPLS, OIG, NSO) dated within 30 days of start
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the past year
• Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors

• This role involves weekend and night call duties.
