Medical Surgical - Neuro

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift, 3x12 hours
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Neurosurgery experience

Preferred Qualifications

• NIH certification
• Neuro experience

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Ratios: 1:5-6
• 48-hour option available; overtime is not billed until after 48 hours
• Float required
• Weekend requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on request
• Manager schedules
• 2 orientation shifts on the unit after hospital-based orientation

Clinical Focus

• Neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses

Work Conditions

• May be assigned to storm team and/or hurricane team coverage
• May be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Mid-contract consolidation to a centralized office may occur
• May be preassigned to units as needed

Additional Notes

• Navy scrubs required
• RTO maximum: 7 days
• Medication, documentation, and communication systems include Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC
