Sterile Processing Tech

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role
  • Temp-to-perm opportunity
  • Night shift: 3x12s, Friday through Sunday
  • Holiday rotation
  • 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Sterile Processing Technician (2 years of experience)
  • Sterile Processing Technician experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • CBSPD or HSPA
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Work Expectations

  • May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • May float to sister facilities
  • May be permanently switched to another campus

Schedule and Attendance

  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
  • No time off will be approved after the contract is signed
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • No more than 2 callouts unless supported by a doctor’s note
  • No more than 3 tardies
  • Holidays not included in time off requests are expected to be worked if the facility is open
  • Travelers may be assigned to inclement weather response teams
  • Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season

  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Local radius: 60 miles

Required Documents and Health Clearance

  • Driver’s license or state ID
  • Social Security card
  • E-Verify attestation
  • Background check
  • Education verification
  • 2 clinical references
  • Resume/application
  • Skills checklist
  • Annual physical exam
  • Fit test within 90 days before start
  • Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination
  • Flu vaccination documentation or exemption, if applicable for the season
  • CBC and CMP labs
  • Physical assessment for sterile processors
  • Orientation modules before start
  • Badge photo
  • Radiation badge if required by the assignment
  • State exclusion list clearance

Additional Notes

  • BLS is not required
  • Parking is available for nights and weekends with a one-time $20 pass fee
