Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location

Fredericksburg, Virginia

Employment Type

Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend plus every other holiday
On-call requirement: 3 times per 6-week scheduling period
Floating required within scope to ER, Adult ICU Stepdown, pediatric unit, and floors

Job Description

Provide respiratory therapy care in NICU and adult units including ER, ICU Stepdown, pediatric unit, and floors
Assignments vary in acuity; not NICU-only
Responsibilities include airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizer treatments
Night shift duties include aerosol, bronchial hygiene, lung inflation therapies, and management of CPAP/BiPAP
Experience preferred in NICU, ED, adult ICU, emergency department, and level 2 trauma care
Must attend monthly department meetings or acknowledge meeting minutes if not working

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
Certified Respiratory Therapist Technician (CRTT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience in an Acute Care setting
EMT or ER Technician experience
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
