Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 36 to 40 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or alternative shifts: 2x12-hour shifts or 2x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 10:45 AM–7:15 PM)
  • No 4x10-hour shifts
  • Weekend requirement: Two 24-hour on-call shifts per schedule
  • On-call requirement: 2 calls per Monday-Friday week (either 7 PM–11 PM or 7 PM–7 AM) with 1 day per week available to stay late
  • Average patient ratio: 1:2
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
  • Locals not accepted
  • Pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date
  • Return to office (RTO) restrictions: RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
  • Guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
  • CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • Certifications required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Active state license required prior to start date

Additional Requirements and Compliance

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal background check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, and education verification
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation required for internationally educated candidates
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • TB testing or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Immunizations and titers required or acceptable: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (highly preferred for certain specialties)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 1 - March 31)
  • COVID vaccination series preferred
  • Employment application with 7-year work history and no gaps greater than 90 days
  • Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
  • Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
  • One supervisor reference within the past year (charge nurse references not accepted for ICU/CTICU; standard references for other units)
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for certain tech roles including CVOR Tech

Training and Competency Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months, minimum 85% passing score
  • Color blind testing required for all candidates (effective 8/2/2024), minimum 80% passing score
  • Various facility-specific training modules and attestations required, including but not limited to:
    • Language Services Training
    • CAUTI Education Training (except PICU, NICU, Psychiatry/Behavioral Health)
    • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
    • Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (except ER/ED, Pediatrics, ICU, NICU)
    • Stroke Education (except Pediatric specialties and NICU)
    • CLABSI Prevention Training
    • Preventing Pressure Injury Training
    • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
    • Pyxis ES MedStation Modules
    • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
    • Patient Bedside Rounding (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
    • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (except certain hospitals)
    • AME Blood Administration Module (except Case Managers, Behavioral Health/Psych, Home Health)
    • New Employee Orientation Module
    • 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for CVOR Tech)
    • Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)
    • Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
  • EPIC testing or training may be required depending on prior experience
