Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Perform X-Ray procedures including Head, Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine, and Pelvis.
  • Experience with PACS and portable X-Ray equipment required.
  • Preferred experience with C-Arms.
  • Work settings include adult acute care, adult outpatient, bedside procedures, Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal ICU (NICU), and Operating Room (OR).
  • OR experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in District of Columbia.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one prior travel assignment as a Radiology Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (R) certification.
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function.
  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
  • Immunization and health requirements including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
    • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination.
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season.
  • Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
  • Competency exams and skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually.

Experience & References

  • Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
  • Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years.
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience with C-Arms.
  • Familiarity with GE imaging equipment.
