Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU

Location

City: Fredericksburg, Virginia

Contract Length

13 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

SICU with a specialized patient population including trauma, cardiovascular surgery (e.g., TAVRs, CABGs), neurosurgery, and other complex surgical patients.
Diagnoses commonly managed: acute ventilator needs, COVID+ with high oxygen demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma cases, open heart recovery, post-code blue, multi-system organ failure, CRRT needs.

Shift Details

Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3 (adjusted based on skill level and acuity)
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
On-call: Not required
Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs
Block scheduling: Not accommodated
Locals accepted
Return-to-Office restrictions at manager’s discretion

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
ACLS certification
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Competency in arterial line management
Competency in blood product administration
