Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Indianapolis, Indiana

Position Overview

• Specialty: Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse

• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts of 10 hours (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatrics PACU - Post Anesthetic Care experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
• Background checks within 90 days including:

  • 7-year address/work history verification
  • SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
  • Education verification (may be pending at start if needed)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Official Transcript or Diploma verifying degree and graduation date (may pend at start)
• Online license verification within 30 days before start
• Skills Checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
• Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (must be from charge nurse, manager, supervisor, or above)
• Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days (covering last 7 years)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
• Fit mask test within 12 months with approved respirators (3M N95 models or Honeywell N95)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tuberculosis test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
• Color Blind Exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score required

Additional Notes

• Perioperative/OR RNs including PACU are exempt from the restriction preventing Indiana RNs from working at the facility after 11/30/24
• Scrub color provided by facility
• Charting system: Cerner

Work Schedule & Hours

• Shift options:

  • 8 or 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours/week
  • 3 shifts of 12 hours totaling 36 hours/week
  • 4 shifts of 12 hours totaling 48 hours/week
