Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:45–07:15)
Patient Ratio: 1:6

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Telemetry unit with skills in ER Holding and telemetry monitoring.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
• Weekends and holidays required as per unit needs.
• Orientation provided weekly.
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Certification.
• Successful completion of EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam.

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Required to complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
• Must complete annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
• Background check within 90 days including criminal, education verification, and other required searches.
• Annual TB questionnaire and negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Up-to-date immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Annual N95 fit test (or completed onsite if needed).
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• Must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity.
• Blocking of shifts at discretion of unit leaders.

Orientation & Training

• Weekly orientation provided.
• Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed before start date.
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years with a passing score of 80% or higher.
• Color blindness testing required (online or in-person).
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam must be updated annually.

Notes

• Valid driver’s license required if driving on behalf of the employer is an essential job function.
• Prior travel experience is not required.
• Must be able to provide clear photo for badge with specified requirements.
• Must comply with all facility-specific health and safety policies.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a telemetry nursing role with a focus on cardiac rhythm monitoring and management during night shifts in Maryland.
