Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)

Patient Ratio: 1:4
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Float: Position floats between units
On-call: Not required

Dress Code

Licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN): solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (print tops not allowed except in Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services units)
Unlicensed personnel: solid hunter green uniforms or scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
Workramp Modules: Annual completion of regulatory, specialty-specific, regional core, and system specialty-specific training modules as applicable
Competency Exams: Including fetal heart rate monitoring assessment for Labor & Delivery RNs if applicable
Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units
References and Work History: Must align with specialty and include explanations for any employment gaps or overlaps

Notes

Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome
Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
No 48-hour shifts allowed
No on-call duties required
