Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 5x8 hour day shifts (Monday-Friday) with rotating start times between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
- Call: No on-call required
- Caseload: Up to 12 patients daily across three rooms
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required; no floating to sister facilities
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours/week for 3-12 hour shifts
- 48 hours/week for 4-12 hour shifts
- 40 hours/week for other shifts
- Locals: Not accepted
- Pending State License: Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (RT(N)) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to open and close the department
- Experience with:
- Stress tests/studies
- Hepatobiliary scans
- VQ scans
- Thyroid and parathyroid imaging
- GI and bone scans
- Sentinel node procedures
- I-131 therapies (non-therapeutic)
Certifications & Licenses
- Must have a valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license for Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (check unit-specific requirements)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CPI, MAB) – verify with recruiter/unit description
- Primary source verification of professional license required
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest related degree required before start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- TB testing (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA, confidentiality, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, dress code, and regulatory education must be completed and signed prior to start
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
- Employment application must be submitted and approved prior to start
- Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) registration required for certain clinical roles
- Fingerprinting required for assignments involving long-term care or rehab units in Illinois (if applicable)
